Welcome to “Establishing a Business Set-up.” During this course we’ll cover a wide variety of topics that will assist you in setting up your business.

The goal of establishing a business setup is to help you get your business off on the right foot. If a business opens its doors without a defined legal structure, clear name, adequate insurance or any other key component missing or overlooked, you decrease your chance of success. Establishing a business setup allows the business owner to plan for growth.

This course will walk you through the key areas necessary set-up your business. We will discuss topics such as business opportunities, legal forms of a business including sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, explore what goes into choosing a business name, developing a mission statement as well as review licenses permits, patents and more.

The following course will provide you with the information necessary to create the structure to proceed in your business.

Author Overview: Dawn Braddock

Dawn Braddock has been successfully self-employed for 10 years. She is currently the sole proprietor of a business that specializes in entrepreneurship, human resource management and leadership training. Dawn is also a partner in two other companies focusing on training and materials for youth, persons with disabilities and the experienced worker.

During this time Dawn developed a diploma course on business planning that is available through a national correspondence program at various adult learning centres. Dawn also assisted in the creation and co-ordination of a 20-week program on how to start a small business.

Dawn travels throughout North America delivering over 10 different seminar topics. A few of the products and services Dawn’s company has provided to organizations during this time includes:
