Overview
The author, Jayne Pilot, developed a “Three Step Process – Identify, Insure, Improve” TM in 1995 for implementing an Environmental Management System (EMS) to International Standards – ISO 14001.
This course will cover the third step in implementation - “Improve” and the tasks required. Once this step is completed and all elements of the standard have been audited with a management review, the organization can take the next step for self-declaration or registration.
This course is also core training for individuals wishing to become environmental auditors, covering the ISO 14001 standard model requirements.
Course Description:
Improving one’s environmental management system is a key requirement of the ISO standard. This course covers the next steps in implementing an environmental management system for improvement. The course covers internal audit requirements, management review and the process of self-declaration or registration.
Learning Outcomes:
This course covers improving an organization’s EMS. It will review the requirements of the standard and assist in the management review process of your management system for continual improvement and prevention of pollution. This step is referred to as Step Three “Improve”, and completes the Three Step Process for implementing an EMS. You are now ready for self-declaration or registration.
