“I hate math!” is a particular refrain we hear again and again from students, but it doesn’t have to be that way. This module will help teachers and students alike make friends with math and come to appreciate its inherent artistry. By approaching math as an art form in itself, bringing it to life through other art forms, these units help students relax and begin to see math as a way to think about the world and explore their own curiosities. We can re-invigorate ours and our students' excitement about this core subject and open the doors to learning to all our students by beginning to teach concepts before rules and allowing children to begin to discover mathematical principles on their own. Once you've completed this module, you'll have an extensive list of new ideas for making math a friend for your students. Certificate issued upon successful completion of module.
